In Week 10, Arizona won a critical divisional game but also lost their top pass catcher. NFL Network Insider reported on Monday that tight end Zach Ertz of the Cardinals had a knee injury that would terminate his season during Sunday’s road victory against the Los Angeles Rams. After making his first grab of the day in the first quarter, the seasoned TE left the game. Ertz staggered to the sidelines before being carried to the locker room, clearly unhappy.
With 47 catches and four touchdowns in 10 games played this season, Ertz led all Cardinals pass catchers. The 32-year-406 old’s receiving yards placed him third on the club. Ertz was a solid target for Kyler Murray since he was acquired in a trade during the middle of last season, and his seasoned presence will be missed by a Cardinals club that has little tolerance for mistakes in the tight NFC West.
