The extra week off for Giants defender Xavier McKinney will cost him more. McKinney injured his hand in an ATV accident while on vacation in Cabo during the bye week, and he will be out for a few weeks, according to NFL Network Insider. The defensive back was added to New York’s reserve/non-football injury list.
On Monday, McKinney tweeted about his injury and said the accident happened when he was riding an ATV as part of a guided sightseeing trip. I will make every effort to return as soon as possible so I can contribute to the things we’re doing here in NY, McKinney promised in a letter.
McKinney has played every conceivable defensive snap thus far in the Giants’ eight games, all of which he has started. As a member of the Giants defense, which has performed above expectations and helped New York stun the majority of the football world with its 6-2 start, he has racked up 38 tackles, four passes defensed, one sack, and one forced fumble this season.
