It’s possible that Cam Akers’ time with the Los Angeles Rams is coming to an end shortly. Despite stating that he would never rule out Akers sticking with the organization, Rams head coach Sean McVay said that the team is in trade negotiations for the running back.
In a press conference, McVay stated, “As of right now, I think the best option for all parties would be to explore whether there’s a good situation for him with another team. If that doesn’t work out, I wouldn’t say that he won’t return and figure out how to use himself to the best of his ability; I never talk in such absolutes.”
The Rams and the back were “working through some things,” according to McVay, who confirmed on Friday that Akers will miss the Rams’ Week 6 game against the Carolina Panthers. NFL Network Insider claimed that Los Angeles was anticipating receiving trade offers for the third-year running back.
