Bellator 173: McGeary vs Fields
Bellator just visited Ireland in December, but that was Dublin and now, they will take their talents to Belfast for a light-heavyweight main event. Former champion Liam McGeady would like to get back on track after losing his belt, and he will take on Chris Fields. The card will also be co-promoted with BAMMA (British Association of Mixed Martial Arts) 28, which will be headlined by a lightweight title bout between champion Rhys McKee and Chris Stringer, as well as two vacated title bouts.

How To Bet On Bellator
When you’re betting on Bellator, you’ll have a favorite and an underdog in each fight. The underdog will be shown by a positive sign, so something like +180. That means you would wager $100 to win $180. Then you have the favorite, which will be shown by a negative sign, so the odds could be -150. That means you would wager $150 to win $100. You don’t have to bet in $100 increments but this just explains how the odds and payouts work, so that everyone can clearly understand after a quick glance at the numbers.

Main Card
Liam McGeary vs. Chris Fields – Light Heavyweight
McGeary (11-1) lost the belt to Phil Davis via unanimous decision in November, while Fields (11-7-1) submitted Dan Knoecke in a BAMMA bout in February 2016. That is a long time to be out of the cage, going up against a former champion hungry to get back up the ladder. Fields has been submitted four times, and he does not want to go to the mat with McGeary, who should win this easily.
Pick: McGeady
James Gallagher vs. Kirill Medvedovsky – Featherweight
Gallagher (5-0) has four submission wins in five pro fights, while Medvedovsky (7-3) has lost three of his last four, and he was knocked out by Georgi Karakhanyan in his Bellator debut in November. Gallagher is rolling right now and Medvedovsky needs a big win to turn things around. It will be tough to do that in Ireland on Gallagher’s home turf.
Pick: Gallagher
Sinead Kavanagh vs. Iony Razafiarison – Women’s Catchweight (140 pounds)
Kavanagh (4-0) is perfect so far in her MMA career and is from Dublin, and Razafiarison (1-1, 1 NC) hails from France, but she has not fought since a loss to Bryanna Fissori in June 2015. Again, that is a long time to be out of commission, and Kavanagh will be inspired in her hometown.
Pick: Kavanagh
Rhys McKee vs. Chris Stringer – BAMMA Lightweight Championship Bout
McKee (5-0) knocked out Jai Herbert to take the vacated belt in December, and Stringer (11-12, 1 NC) has lost four in a row coming into this bout. All four losses have come by unanimous decision, so he is tough to stop, but McKee has four knockout wins and a submission win, and he should keep his title.
Pick: McKee
