Back on November 30, Georgia Southern took care of this Georgia State team by a score of 38-10. The Panthers defense let the Eagles run for 279 yards on 47 rush attempts, including five rush TDs. J.D. King put up a solid showing, recording 107 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 16 attempts for Georgia Southern. For Georgia State, Dan Ellington completed 18-of-27 passes for 182 yards. Ellington (-10 rushing yards on 15 attempts) and Tra Barnett (53 yards on 15 carries, one TD) mounted the running game as Cornelius McCoy (seven receptions, 89 yards) and Devin Gentry (three catches, 34 yards) led all Georgia State pass-catchers in the loss.
