The Rangers are turning to righty Doug Fister (1-4, 3.43 ERA), who has 33 strikeouts and 15 walks as well as a 1.37 WHIP. Fister only made one start against the Yankees in 2017 (1-1, 3.72 ERA and six strikeouts across 9.2 innings).

For the home team, Texas pitching staff has allowed 5.3 runs per game overall in 2018. Its starters have an ERA of 5.15, a WHIP of 1.44 and a strikeouts-per-nine of 7.3. The bullpen has a 4.20 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 8.2 K/9.

The Yankees have gained 4.3 units and are 16-13 ATS when facing a right-handed starting pitcher this season. The over has hit in 19 of those games, compared to nine that’ve gone under in such games. On the other hand, the Rangers have lost 3.4 units and are 4-9 ATS when facing a left-handed starting pitcher. The overs hit in seven of those games, compared to four which went under the total.
