Matthews (three catches, 26 yards) shared the receiving duties in the defeat.
One week ago, Louisville got the victory against this Wake Forest crew by a score of 62-59. As a group, the Deacs collectively completed 33-of-56 passes for 423 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions. Jamie Newman went 24-for-41 for 251 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions while Sam Hartman was nine-of-15 for 172 yards and two touchdowns. Cade Carney (95 yards on 17 rush attempts, one TD) and Christian Beal-Smith (123 yards on 14 carries) mounted the running game while Kendall Hinton (13 receptions, 134 yards) and Sage Surratt (12 catches, 196 yards, three TDs) led the pass-catching attack in the loss.
