The Chicago White Sox will be taking on their division rival Cleveland Indians in a Thursday matinee. The opening pitch is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. ET and NBC Sports Chicago will broadcast the matchup.

Chicago White Sox vs. Cleveland Indians Odds

Cleveland (receiving -190 odds) is a solid favorite against Chicago and oddsmakers have set the Over/Under for this game at 9.5 runs. Odds for betting on the game’s total now sit at -110 for both the over and the under. Bettors can also wager on the game’s spread with the current runline odds standing at White Sox +1.5 runs (-125) and Indians -1.5 runs (+105).

The Indians are 81-59 straight up (SU) and 75-64 against the spread (ATS). The team hasn’t moved the needle much for gamblers, losing 1.2 units for moneyline bettors while gaining 8.0 units ATS. The Indians are turning to Zach Plesac (7-5, 3.61 ERA), who’s got 70 strikeouts and 33 walks, along with a WHIP of 1.21. Plesac is 0-1 with seven strikeouts and a 1.29 ERA in one start against Chicago this year.

As a unit, Cleveland’s pitchers have given up 4.0 runs per game overall this season. Its starters have a 3.77 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 9.7 strikeouts per nine innings. The bullpen has a 3.67 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 9.1 K/9. In 63 games against AL Central foes, Indians starters have an ERA of 3.57 and the bullpen’s ERA is 3.06.

The Cleveland hitters have put up 4.7 runs per outing, including 5.1 per game against divisional foes and 6.4 per game over their last five. The team’s hit .286/.375/.476 over its last five contests and is 2-3 SU during that span.

Shortstop Francisco Lindor and first baseman Carlos Santana have led the Indians’ offense this year. Lindor is hitting .298/.349/.536 with 27 home runs, 64 RBIs, 84 runs and 20 steals, while Santana’s line sits at .288/.406/.542 with 32 homers, 85 RBIs and 97 runs.

In the other dugout, Chicago’s pitching staff allowed 5.3 runs per game and its starters own a 5.25 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 8.25 K/9. The bullpen has an ERA of 4.61, along with a WHIP of 1.44 and a K/9 of 8.35.

The White Sox offense has slashed .255/.311/.401 on its way to 4.2 runs scored per game in 2019, including 4.4 runs per game against divisional foes and 4.6 per game over the team’s last five outings (1-4 SU).

Jose Abreu and Leury Garcia continue to lead Chicago’s offense. Abreu is slashing .281/.323/.496 with 29 home runs, 106 RBIs and 69 runs scored, while Garcia is slashing .277/.309/.379 with seven homers, 38 RBIs, 87 runs and 15 stolen bases.
