After sustaining an ankle injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 27-17 defeat to the Arizona Cardinals, wide receiver Cooper Kupp left the game. Kupp “may lose some time, but the injury is not catastrophic,” according to NFL Network Insider’s report from Sunday night. He will still go through more testing.
Kupp fell awkwardly after leaping up to collect a pass from Rams backup quarterback John Wolford, rolling his right ankle. Before receiving assistance to stand up, Kupp lay on the ground for a while. After being aided, Kupp jumped to the sideline bench without placing any weight on it.
Head coach Sean McVay voiced worry for Kupp’s injuries at the post-game news conference, adding that while he will later speak with the medical team to learn more, the preliminary findings were not encouraging. McVay told reporters, “I don’t have anything at the moment. I just know that it didn’t sound good and it didn’t look nice.”
