Nyheim Hines was acquired by the Buffalo Bills from the Indianapolis Colts in a trade on Tuesday, ending their lengthy quest for a pass-catching running back. Before the cutoff, the Bills traded Hines to Indianapolis for Zack Moss and a conditional sixth-round draft selection in 2023. Since the spring, Buffalo has been trying to integrate a passing-down back into their potent attack. Before he made the decision to go back to Washington, it looked that they had signed J.D. McKissic in free agency. Before the Panthers sent Christian McCaffrey to San Francisco, the Bills also inquired about him. Hines, an elusive runner who caught 234 passes for 1,725 yards and seven scores in 72 games with Indianapolis, is a brilliant pass-catcher. In 300 tries, he accumulated 1,205 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. The Bills will now have Hines join a backfield that includes youngster James Cook and Devin Singletary, who have been making an impact lately.
