At the trade deadline, the Jacksonville Jaguars acquired a wide receiver, but not one who will be useful in 2022. Tuesday, according to people familiar with the situation, the Jacksonville Jaguars acquired suspended wide receiver Calvin Ridley from the Atlanta Falcons. In exchange for Ridley’s reinstatement, the Falcons will give up two future draft selections, with the maximum compensation being a 2023 fifth-round pick and a 2024 second-round pick.
The 2023 fifth-round selection will be converted into a sixth-round pick if Ridley is reinstated after a specific deadline. The second choice will be valued at least a fourth rounder if Ridley makes the club in 2024. If the Jaguars sign Ridley to a long-term contract, the pick will become a third-round pick upon reaching a certain amount of playing time, and the team would forfeit a second-round pick in 2024. Since then, Jacksonville has made the transaction public.
