Philadelphia is no longer in the J.J. Arcega era. According to reliable sources, NFL Network Insider revealed on Monday that the Eagles have dealt the receiver to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for nickel corner Ugo Amadi. Since then, the Eagles have made the transaction public.
Arcega, a second-round selection out of Stanford in 2019, struggled to establish a following during his three seasons in Philadelphia. In 16 games as a rookie, he caught 10 catches for 169 yards and one touchdown. He caught four catches for 85 yards in eight games in 2020. And in the 16 games he played in 2021, he only managed two receptions for 36 yards.
J.J. Arcega was selected by the Eagles because they thought his size would make him an effective weapon in the end zone. That hope, however, swiftly vanished as the wideout failed to prevail in traffic and battled to get any separation from the DBs. Several rumors claim that the Seahawks were already considering cutting Amadi.
