The Arizona Cardinals have granted many extensions this season. The Cardinals are securing their future, from general manager Steve Keim to head coach Kliff Kingsbury to quarterback Kyler Murray.
The most recent is left lineman D.J. Humphries, who inked a three-year agreement with the team that runs through the 2025 season. The deal is for a total of $66.8 million, with $34 million guaranteed and $21 million in Year 1, according to NFL Network Insider.
Humphries will now be in the same area code as the highest-paid tackles in the league, Trent Williams of the San Francisco 49ers leading the pack with an average yearly salary of $23.01 million. Humphries, a first-round choice of the Cards in the 2015 NFL Draft, has started every game since his rookie year.
After two years in 2017 and 2018 marred by injuries, Humphries has started at least 16 games in three straight seasons, paving the way for his first Pro Bowl appearance in 2021. The current Humphries season could be his greatest yet.
