Julian Hicks was a bright spot in the loss for Akron, posting 51 yards on nine catches. For Buffalo, Kyle Vantrease completed 14-of-23 passes for 65 yards. Kevin Marks (71 rushing yards on 19 attempts, one TD) and Jaret Patterson (88 yards on 17 carries) spearheaded the ground game in the win as Daniel Lee (six receptions, 30 yards) and Antonio Nunn (three catches, 25 yards) led the pass-catching attack.
